COURSE OVERVIEW

This course provides an overview of this technology, its use in water and wastewater treatment.The course covers all aspects of UV light and ozone treatment of drinking water including theory, design, operations, maintenance and validation of UV systems. Participants will learn the components of these technologies and their advantages and disadvantages.

COURSE OUTLINE

Definition of UV light and how UV light disinfection works. Use in wastewater treatment. Typical equipment and installations. Requirements for effective use and dosing parameters. Monitoring and maintenance and safety considerations.

Water and wastewater operators, water users and community members interested in the disinfection of the water supply system. This course will be of special interest to managers and operators in water treatment facilities using UV treatment or considering UV for treatment.
