DIRECTOR APPROVED COURSES

Operator-in-Training

4 DAYS INSTRUCTION + 1 DAY EXAM

To provide operators of water treatment and water distribution systems with the knowledge required to successfully operate and maintain community facilities, and successfully challenge provincial certification exams.

Operation of Small Drinking Water Systems

4 DAYS INSTRUCTION + 1 DAY EXAM

Successful completion of this course meets the requirements of a “Trained Person” under O.Reg.170/03, Section 1 (1), of the Safe Drinking Water Act, to operate, maintain, and take samples from a small non-municipal non-residential system serving a designated facility, small municipal non-residential system serving a designated facility, and non-municipal seasonal residential system serving a designated facility.

Water Quality Analyst

4 DAYS INSTRUCTION + 1 DAY EXAM

The water quality analyst course is intended for water laboratory technicians. Topics in the course include: science, microbiology, apparatus, safety, chlorine residuals, collections of samples, quality assurance and control, calibration, alkalinity, conductivity, hardness, dissolved solids, reagents, suspended solids, odour, math calculations, and Ontario regulations.
